The last one was in Austria : almost 60 km this day... that's old !
Starting 4 kmin the south of Patra, first Peloponese city, I'm arrived in Olympia yesterday evening at 20 o'clock p.m.
113 km in 2 days ! 50km the first day, and 63 the second !
Tired, but happy.
In true, I just had to do 92 km, but my map is wrong for one distance, adding 3 "surprising" km, and I missed my way at the end of my first day, adding 15 km more which I would do without.
I explain : the morning of my first day, I walk correctly and do 30 km before stop in a coffee shop about 2 p.m. I imagine if I walk like this in the evening, I should be able to arrive in Olympia tomorrow as the city will be just at 45 km, which is just a normal dayly distance...
But in the evning, I missed my way just before stop and build my tent... And in the morning, bad awake like everytime, I follow the road in the same direction during two hours !!! It's just at 9 o'clock a.m. I realize I have the sun in the eyes instead of having it in the back.
What a damned stupide idiot !!!!
Incredible : after more than 4 months of walk, I'm still not able to make the difference between West and East !!! Drag one day, drag for ever ! I am really furious against me.
Anyway, I will arrive in Olympia this evening. But at the end, I came back to my starting point at 10 o'clock a.m., and I have always 45 km (48 latter) to do !
I get a move on, using my irritation to walk faster, I supprime the usuals stop, and go until 3 p.m.. THen, I tk one hour to eat and have a little rest, and start again for 4 hours of walk. And I can stop in the first cming of Olympia just before the sunset.
Happy about the performace, but in truth, it's mostly the sign I'm as stubborn as a mule, because I had no one interest in particulary to respect my "Patras-Olympia in 2 days", and now, I'm ache all over...
